1. About these terms
These terms apply to everything you download or buy from Spec by Spec, and to your use of specbyspec.co.uk.
- Who we are: Spec by Spec is a trading name of Shereen Amin, a sole trader. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Spec by Spec.
- Contact: hello@specbyspec.co.uk for questions, corrections and licensing.
- Agreement: by downloading or buying a resource, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't download or use the resources.
- Who "you" are: the person who buys or downloads the resource. If you are under 18, a parent or carer should buy for you and agree to these terms on your behalf.
2. The family licence
Every PDF we sell or give away comes with a family licence: one purchase covers one household. Under it you may:
- Download the PDF and keep copies on your own devices.
- Print as many copies as your household needs, for example a fresh copy for each child or to redo an activity.
- Use it with any children in your household, including when you home educate them.
- Share the printed pages with a private tutor who is working with your child, for that child's lessons only.
The licence is personal to you. It starts when you download the file and does not expire.
3. What the family licence does not allow
Without written permission from us, you may not:
- Share, email, forward or upload the PDF file to anyone outside your household, including friends, other families and group chats.
- Post the file or its pages online, including on websites, social media, cloud folders others can open, or learning platforms.
- Sell, resell, rent or give away the PDF or printed copies, or include them in another product.
- Use the resources with a class, school, tuition centre, club or any group beyond your household.
- Copy, edit, adapt or remove our branding, copyright notice or spec references, or pass the work off as your own.
- Use the content to train, fine-tune or feed an AI system.
If we find a resource shared in breach of these terms, we may end the licence and ask for the copies to be removed.
4. Schools, tutors and organisations
Schools, tuition centres, home-education groups and tutors working with several families need a separate licence. Email hello@specbyspec.co.uk with your organisation's name and roughly how many students will use the resources, and we will send you options and pricing.
A tutor working with one family's child can use that family's printed copies, as set out in section 2.
5. Free downloads and paperbacks
- Free downloads (the free starter packs: specification checklist, Key Terms and Definitions list and sample pages) are covered by the same family licence as paid PDFs. To share them, send people to specbyspec.co.uk rather than forwarding the file.
- Signing up: to get a free download you give us your name and email address. We use them to send the download link and, only if you opt in, updates and revision tips. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your details.
- Paperbacks are printed, sold and delivered by Amazon. Your order, delivery and returns are covered by Amazon's terms. Buying a paperback does not include a PDF copy, and you may not scan or copy it except as UK copyright law allows.
6. Payment, delivery and refunds
- Payment and delivery: PDFs are sold through Payhip, which takes payment and emails you a download link straight away. Prices are shown in pounds sterling on the product page.
- Your right to cancel: because PDFs are digital content delivered immediately, you agree at checkout that the download starts straight away. Once it has started, you lose the usual 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
- If something is wrong: if a file is faulty, won't open, is incomplete or isn't as described, email us within 30 days of purchase. We will send a working file or, if we can't fix it, refund you. This doesn't affect your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
- Bought the wrong item: contact us before downloading and we will usually swap or refund it.
7. Independent resources, accuracy and corrections
- Independent: our resources are not produced, endorsed or approved by Pearson. They are written to follow the Pearson Edexcel International GCSE specifications named on each product, and the spec references follow the issue named inside it.
- Revision support, not a guarantee: we check our resources carefully, but we can't guarantee any exam grade. Always check the current specification and your teacher's guidance, especially if the specification is updated.
- Corrections: if you spot an error, email hello@specbyspec.co.uk. We fix confirmed errors, and PDF buyers can download the corrected version free from their Payhip account.
8. Copyright, liability and changes
- Copyright: all text, diagrams, layouts and designs are © 2026 Shereen Amin. All rights reserved. The family licence lets you use them as set out above; it does not transfer ownership.
- Trademarks: Spec by Spec and its logo belong to Shereen Amin. "Pearson" and "Edexcel" are trademarks of Pearson Education Limited, used only to identify the specification our resources are written for.
- Liability: we are not liable for indirect losses or for how the resources are used. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
- Changes: we may update these terms. The version on the website when you buy or download applies to that purchase.
- Governing law: these terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
